Sandbox of Explosives
80 cm x 80 cm
2022 – 2026
Wars in Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran, the global rise of the right wing, economic recession, the climate crisis, and AI – countless crises currently impact our coexistence and well-being.The idea for »Sprengsätze unserer Gesellschaft« (Explosive Devices of Our Society) began in spring 2022 with my first clay grenade, »Rosie Bone«, processing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since then, I have created various porcelain and clay grenades that satirically address these global crises and terrifying news. They express my despair, anger, fear, and worry, but also my hope. This »sandbox of explosives« deliberately aims to provoke and connect people through playful dialogue, serving as a beacon of hope for a future worth living.

When I was a little girl I loved to watch old pirate movies. And I fell in love with Errol Flynn acting in »THE SEAHAWK«. Over decades I collected things washed upon the shore (some called it trash, but I liked it). Errol containes nearly 100 % of these old sea treasures.
